Summary

"Paradise Bend" by William Patterson White is a story set in the Old West, throwing us into the life of Tom Loudon, a cowboy caught between loyalty, love, and the rough realities of frontier life. Tom is head over heels for Kate Saltoun, the daughter of a wealthy rancher, but their connection is tested by the dangerous world around them. Rival ranchers are at each other's throats, and whispers of cattle rustling fill the air. A bounty is set for the rustlers, and suspicion falls on those closest to them, including the shady manager of the 88 ranch. Tom’s simple errand transforms into a mission, revealing secrets and forcing him to confront the danger threatening the Lazy River country. The opening chapters highlight the themes of survival, betrayal, and the struggle for power that define the American West.
