"Children of the Wild" by Charles G. D. Roberts is a set of turn of the century tales where a boy simply known as the Babe is introduced to the natural world, alongside his Uncle Andy. The stories focus on the wildlife that surrounds them, such as otters and other enchanting creatures. Young Babe learns by observing nature, interacting with Uncle Andy and their guide, Bill.
