Summary

"A Description of Millenium Hall" by Sarah Scott is a story about a traveler's discovery of a unique community. He tells the story as he arrives at a place called Millenium Hall. The story explores the lives of remarkable women dedicated to making the world a better place through good deeds. A man named Mr. Lamont and the narrator of the story are introduced to these insightful women, learning about their ideas and how their lives show what it means to be virtuous and humane. The book starts with a charming trip to Millenium Hall where the narrator and Mr. Lamont find the area and people living there very appealing. They are greeted warmly by talented women who spend their days creating art and doing good work. The narrator is impressed by the ladies’ focus on helping others and building a strong community. The narrator compares this focus to the fast-paced society he knows in London.
