"Hidden Blood" by W. C. Tuttle is a Western tale set in the American Southwest, where cowboys Hashknife Hartley and Sleepy Stevens venture across a harsh landscape, aiming to relieve Hashknife's troublesome rheumatism. Their quest leads them to the mysterious Big Medicine Hawkworth and immediately thrusts them into a web of conflict including the menacing Pedro Torres. Beginning at a remote stage station known as Piute, our protagonists discover rumors of revitalizing hot springs owned by Hawkworth and upon arriving at the ranch, they're immediately swept into a situation involving a daring stagecoach robbery, a wounded wanderer, and the looming shadow of Torres and his cronies. Even as Hashknife finds relief, the story promises a collision of dark forces which threaten to complicate their lives even further.
