Summary

"The Rāmāyana, Volume 1. Bālakāndam and Ayodhyākāndam" by Valmiki is an epic from long ago that tells a story of heroes and villains, focusing on Prince Rāma, his wife Sitā, and his brother Lakshmana. It's a story about doing what's right, staying true to your word, and loving deeply. It all starts with Valmiki thinking about what makes a perfect person, which leads him to introduce Rāma, who has all those great qualities. Then, we meet King Daçarātha, who wants a son to take over his kingdom and decides to hold a big ceremony. A wise man named Rhishyasringa is needed to make the ceremony work. Valmiki weaves all these people and ideas together to begin Rāma’s big adventure, where he faces challenges, shows how much he loves and cares for others, and fights against the evil demon king Rāvana.
