Little Mitchell: The Story of a Mountain Squirrel

"Little Mitchell: The Story of a Mountain Squirrel" by Margaret Warner Morley is a heartwarming chronicle of a tiny squirrel's extraordinary journey from a fragile beginning to a spirited life, woven into the majestic backdrop of North Carolina's mountains. Little Mitchell, the sole survivor of his nest on Mount Mitchell, is saved by a compassionate lady after an accidental fall. From this moment, an unbreakable bond flourishes as they set out on a series of travels through the rich mountainous landscapes. The lady nurtures Mitchell with condensed milk, offering him a second chance at life, and together, they navigate rugged terrains, filling their days with laughter and companionship. It’s a story of friendship, resilience, and the enchantment of the natural world, painted with a touch of early 20th-century charm.

Margaret Warner Morley was an American educator, biologist, and author of many children's books on nature and biology.
