Summary

"The Trespasser, Volume 3" by Gilbert Parker is a story about a man named Gaston Belward figuring out who he is and what he wants in life. Gaston finds himself pulled in different directions, one way by his family history and another by his life as a Member of Parliament. Visiting his family's lawyer and seeing old papers makes him start thinking about what his family expects from him. He also meets women like Delia and Andree, which makes it even harder for him to decide what to do because he has to pick between what society wants and what he truly wants. In the beginning, it’s all about Gaston understanding who he is as a person, if he wants to live free, and how he wants to live his life. He has to juggle honor and passion, finding a way to be himself while still doing what’s expected of him.
