Summary

"The Man the Sun-Gods Made" by Gardner F. Fox is a science fiction story where a man called Tyr, viewed as a god by the alien Tryllans because of his sun-given powers, wrestles with his place in an otherworldly saga. He must resolve his feelings about responsibility when fighting against the oppressive "ardth" race and his role as a protector. The novel explores Tyr’s origin, tying him to his would-be enemies, and is on a journey to acquire knowledge in the hopes to destroy the "ardth." Ultimately, he accepts his legacy during a war with the "ardth", becoming something more, and brings both species together.

About the Author

Gardner Francis Cooper Fox was an American writer known best for creating numerous comic book characters for DC Comics. He is estimated to have written more than 4,000 comics stories, including 1,500 for DC Comics. Fox was also a science fiction author and wrote many novels and short stories.
