Summary

"Pottery Decoration Under the Glaze" by M. Louise McLaughlin is a handbook and study of decorating pottery that explains how to make beautiful and long-lasting designs under a glaze. Sharing knowledge from years of experimenting, the author talks about getting pottery ready, picking the right clays, and using different ways to decorate well. She discusses pottery materials, firing conditions, and how under-glaze methods are different from over-glaze methods. McLaughlin gives step-by-step instructions for mixing colors, painting, and firing pottery, along with tips for both beginners and pros. The goal is to give the reader a good grounding in the skills needed to make impressive pottery art.
