"Blue-Bird Weather" by Robert W. Chambers is a story about love, second chances, and how different social classes can come together. It centers on John Benton Marche, a rich young man, as he journeys to a simple duck hunting club in Virginia. There, he becomes deeply involved with the Herold family: a sick father named Courtney, and his kids, Jim and Molly. A strong bond grows between John and Molly which leads to romance. As their love blossoms, John offers to help Jim get an education, but the past casts a shadow when it’s revealed that Courtney once stole money and lost his good name; the hidden secrets create conflict for a couple in love, and also looks at finding truth, and how love can create real change, and the opportunity for people to start over.
