Slay-Ride

"Slay-Ride" by Winston K. Marks is a science fiction story set in the unforgiving vastness of space that follows Frane Lewis, a heartless space pirate, as he puts a dangerous plan into action. Driven by greed, Frane ruthlessly eliminates the crew of a space freighter, setting the stage for a major heist. But as Frane continues his plans, he begins to suffer the consequences of his actions, particularly when wearing strange spaceman's underwear becomes a major problem. Alone on the ship, Frane's body temperature climbs to dangerous levels because he's wearing too many layers in the cold expanse of space. Eventually, he is defeated by the very environment he tried to exploit, and his miscalculations and greed leads to his ironic demise.
