Summary

"Spring Days" by George Moore is a story from the 1800s that observes the Brookes family, specifically Mr. Brookes and his daughters, as they face problems and wants relating to family relationships, social class, and relationships with others. The book begins by showing problems in the Brookes family, where Mr. Brookes is upset with his daughters for flirting with young men that he finds dislikable, like the Measons. The characters, such as the assertive Maggie and the sad Grace, are pictured in a way that brings them to life, presenting family arguments that include conversations about love, family expectations, and social roles, showing a complex look at how people deal with each other and with society.
