Summary

"The Peoples of Europe" by H. J. Fleure is an informative book that looks at the many different groups of people living in Europe, their languages, customs, and how their history has played out. The book shows how connected these people have become while defining Europe's identity through the years and geography. At the beginning, Fleure shares that Europe has many different people and isn't just one kind. He divides Europe into East and West, talking about the climate and how people lived in each area. He shares how the climate and the way people lived have shaped their relationships, how they made a living, and their cultures. This sets the foundation for the book to look more closely at where these people come from, the root of their languages, and how all of this affects European societies today.
