Summary

"Adventure" by Jack London is a story that throws you into the intense world of David Sheldon, a plantation owner in the Solomon Islands in the early 1900s. As disease ravages his workers and threatens his livelihood, Sheldon must battle against both a deadly dysentery outbreak and the simmering unrest among his laborers, who have a dark past. The book starts with Sheldon already struggling, showing his determination to maintain control and fight for survival in the face of overwhelming odds, as he confronts the dual threats of a health crisis and potential revolt in a tough and isolating environment. This sets the tone for a story of survival and power in a dangerous place.
