Summary

"A Logic of Facts; Or, Every-day Reasoning" by George Jacob Holyoake is a thought-provoking examination of logic, suggesting conventional logic education overlooks the practical reasoning required for navigating daily life, especially for those without formal education. Holyoake starts by questioning standard education, claiming it favors complicated logic instead of common sense. He argues that logic should begin with what can be seen and known, making it available to everyone no matter a person's schooling. He wants to change how logic is both taught and used by explaining how important it is to know the underlying ideas behind logic.
