Summary

"Survey of London, Volume 05 (of 14), the parish of St. Giles-in-the-Fields, part 2" by William Edward Riley is a record of London's St. Giles-in-the-Fields, aimed at historians, architects, and those keen on London's past, documenting the parish's structures and stories. Created in the 20th century, it opens by stating its goals, giving thanks to the London County Council, and explaining how historians and surveyors worked together to create the volume. Setting the scene for a exploration of St. Giles-in-the-Fields, starting from its borders to owners going back to the 1200s, it mixes historical events with the city's buildings.
