Summary

"From One Generation to Another" by Henry Seton Merriman, is a tale set against the backdrop of 19th-century India, kicking off with Lieutenant Seymour Michael navigating the throes of ambition, duty, and moral question marks during the Mutiny. It all starts when Michael uses a report of a man's death from a small wound to his own advantage, leading him to call off his wedding to Anna Hethbridge which shows his focus on his ambition over love. As Anna learns of her fiancé's death, and decides to find love elsewhere with another man, the author foreshadows a twisting plot filled with heartbreak and deception that will ripple through time, touching generations, and exploring the long shadows cast by choices made in the pursuit of power and love.
