Summary

"The Happy Prince, and Other Tales" by Oscar Wilde is a selection of children's stories from the late 1800s that looks at love, giving, and the contrast between beauty and difficulty, with each tale teaching a moral lesson using touching stories and characters you won't forget. "The Happy Prince" tells of a shiny statue above a city that feels sad for the people suffering below. With aid from a kind swallow, the statue gives up all its valuable parts to help those in need, which causes it to fall apart and the swallow to die. Other stories in the book, like "The Nightingale and the Rose" and "The Selfish Giant," also touch on how tricky love, friendship, and kindness can be, focusing on how important it is to care for others and put them before yourself. Every story is written with great detail and a strong sense of right and wrong, making the book a lasting reflection on human feelings and actions.
