Summary

"The Martian" by A. R. Hilliard and Allen Glasser is a science fiction story about a Martian scientist cast away from his home for suggesting new ideas about saving water during a great famine. It’s a story about feeling alone, trying to live, and trying to figure things out when meeting beings from another planet. The story takes readers to Mars, showing the tough life and issues its people face. The main character is exiled to a strange and brutal world named Toon where he must find his way through weird landscapes. His trip gets risky as he meets different creatures, experiences the amazing and experiences the scary, and even meets some of the strange locals. He learns how life works on Toon and starts to miss his home more and more, leading to an ending that looks at sadness, who we are, and how we can never really leave where we come from.
