Summary

"Geordie's Tryst: A Tale of Scottish Life" by Janet Milne Rae is a story set in the late 1800s, painting a picture of Scottish rural existence through the experiences of Grace Campbell, a young woman returning to her aunt's land to find meaning. Overcoming discouragement to make a difference, Grace meets Geordie Baxter, a young herd-boy, and decides to help him, and his sister Jean. Her desire to aid poor children sets the stage for a journey filled with friendship, social responsibility, and changing lives against the beautiful, yet rugged Scottish countryside.
