Summary

"An Egyptian Princess — Volume 06" by Georg Ebers is a historical fiction novel, probably from the late 1800s, that focuses on the tangled relationships between Persian rulers and Egyptian royals, especially looking at love, jealousy, and political scheming. The story centers around the Egyptian Princess Nitetis and Cambyses, the King of Persia, whose affection is overshadowed by doubt and royal drama. The book starts with a big celebration at the Persian court, full of showy displays, but hidden jealousy and mistrust are apparent. Cambyses' brother, Bartja, gets caught up in claims involving Nitetis, and the king's mood quickly goes from happy to angry because of rumors and tricks played by the eunuch Boges, marking a shift toward conflict and examinations of loyalty.
