Summary

"The Home-Life of Borneo Head-Hunters: Its Festivals and Folk-Lore" by William Henry Furness gives a peek into the world of the Kayan and Kenyah tribes in Borneo, zeroing in on their everyday routines, age-old customs, and the way their society is set up. Written in the style of an early 20th-century exploration, the author takes us inside their communities, with a close look at family life, deeply held beliefs, and how they all live together. The story starts by looking at how the tribes organize their lives, their family relationships, and their special customs, all while showing how impressed and fond he is of these people. Furness helps us to see the meaning in their customs and values, from big longhouses to important naming ceremonies. It sets the scene to dive into the culture, looking at their stories and the core beliefs that give their existence meaning.
