Summary

"A New System; or, an Analysis of Antient Mythology. Volume 1 (of 6)"Β by Jacob Bryant is a serious exploration into old myths, setting out to take away the imaginative parts and find historical truths about ancient cultures. It looks closely at myths to show how legends from different groups of people have similar beginnings, aiming to reveal how ancient myths are reflections of real historical events. Bryant explains his big plan to carefully look at the early times of humans, using both Gentile writings and stories from the Bible, to study important events, figures, and how early civilizations moved and lived. He wants to show that many figures in mythology are echoes of real people and events from history.
