"Jamieson" by William R. Doede is a science fiction story that looks at what happens when people fear those who are different, as it tells a story about a mother and son trying to survive in a scary time. Mrs. Jamieson's life was forever changed when her husband was killed by federal Agents because he invented the Konv, a way to teleport. Raising her son, Earl, alone in Wisconsin, she can’t escape the hate she has for the Agents. But Earl grows up and discovers he has his father's powers. Mrs. Jamieson's anger might put them in danger as Earl decides if he should get revenge, learning the hard way about love, hate, and the cost of getting even.
