Summary

"Assignats" by Henry Leverage is a historical adventure set in a dangerous time. The story follows Micky McMasters, a British sailor, along with his friends Mike Monkey and Red Landyard, as they sail the Japan Sea on a beat-up ship called the "Shongpong," led by a mysterious Russian named Ivan. What starts as a simple job turns into a life-threatening mission when they find out that they're not carrying tea as they thought, but something far more dangerous, maybe explosives or illegal goods. The stakes get even higher when they realize they're caught in the middle of a Bolshevik scheme to sneak money into North America. The story builds to an intense ending where the ship falls apart, forcing the sailors to escape and stop the Bolshevik plot, keeping themselves alive, and protecting the established order.
