Summary

"NIGHT AND MORNING, VOLUME 5" by Baron Edward Bulwer Lytton is a mid-1800s story about family responsibilities, changing yourself for the better, and how society limits people. It centers on Roger Morton, a successful businessman, and what happened to his sister's children, exploring how the characters are connected to each other and what happens to them. We start by meeting Mr. Roger Morton in his store, learning about him and seeing a gloomy, busy day. Then, two men ask Morton about his nephews, which makes him think about them unhappily. The first man creates mystery about what happened to the boys, while the second shows an unexpected family connection, revealing a bigger story about lost family and finding the truth. This sets the stage for characters to learn about themselves and face family duties and the effects of the past.
