Summary

"The Court of Boyville" by William Allen White is a fiction book that paints a picture of boyhood in the town of Boyville, where young boys grow up and learn about adventure and friendship. The story is about growing up and how hard it can be when friends tease you or you want to impress someone. There are boys such as Harold "Mealy" Jones and Winfield "Piggy" Pennington who go on adventures. The book starts with a look back at being a kid so that shows the reader this story is about the things that matter when you are young. The first part of the book is about Mealy Jones, who is trying to make his own choices while his friends and family give him advice. It looks at how hard it is to be a boy, and hopes the reader remembers their childhood while hoping Mealy can make the best choices growing up in Boyville.
