Summary

** "The Principal Girl" by J. C. Snaith is a story about British high society in the early 1900s. It looks at how social class, what people expect, and love can all get mixed up. A young, upper-class man named Philip Shelmerdine, who is set to become a baron, finds himself falling for Mary Caspar, a talented actress playing Cinderella. The story begins by showing Philip living in London's high society, trying to deal with what's expected of him and what he truly wants. After starting off on the wrong foot through a letter about dog privileges, the stage is set for a funny yet heartfelt look at love, social status, and figuring out who you are in a world that's changing fast. **
