Summary

"The Aliens" by Murray Leinster is a science fiction story where humans venturing into space meet the Plumies, an alien race, for the first time. The crew of the spaceship "Niccola," including radar technician Jon Baird, are tasked with understanding the Plumies causing an immediate sense of unease and conflict. The initial suspicions between humans and Plumies lead to a battle in which their ships crash and fuse together. The two crews must figure out how to work together amidst their differences, forcing each group to reconsider their assumptions about each other and decide whether to fight or find a way toward partnership.

About the Author

Murray Leinster was a pen name of William Fitzgerald Jenkins, an American writer of genre fiction, particularly of science fiction. He wrote and published more than 1,500 short stories and articles, 14 movie scripts, and hundreds of radio scripts and television plays.
