Messenger

"Messenger" by Joseph Samachson is a science fiction story about a mysterious character with memory loss sent across the Universe to aid an intelligent species of beings on a remote planet. He wakes with little knowledge of his task, his mission complicated by loneliness and a growing understanding of potential galactic civilizations. After traveling between galaxies, he encounters the planet he was tasked to assist, but it is full of intelligent beings living in destruction, fear, greed and war. He then decides to create a device made to share a life-changing message with the species, in hopes that he can lead the planet away from chaos and towards healing.
