Summary

"Shadrach" by Nelson S. Bond is a science fiction story that transports an ancient biblical tale to a distant moon of Uranus called Titania. This narrative follows Chip Warren as he rescues a miner in possession of the valuable metal ekalastron from the villainous Blaze Amborg, bringing him into unexpected conflict. When Amborg seeks to steal the metal, the situation escalates and involves the missionary Salvation Smith, leading to the three being captured by Titania’s natives and facing a fiery trial. Thrust into the alien landscape, the group confronts their own courage and morals, navigates the deceptions unfolding before them, and ultimately faces off against Amborg in a fight for survival, revealing startling truths about themselves and the nature of ekalastron.
