Summary

"Widger's Quotes and Images from An Attic Philosopher in Paris" by Émile Souvestre is a compilation of thoughtful ideas from the 1800s that considers life's big questions and normal human behavior. Through the eyes of an everyday philosopher, it examines society and what it means to be human. This collection presents quotes communicating deep thoughts about what makes life complicated and touches on human emotion. Each quote stands alone and calls out to readers to consider pleasure, pain, and structures put upon people by society. Touching on topics such as wealth, poverty, how quickly fame fades, and how important it is to be balanced, the book asks people to look inward, to consider their values, and think about how they live.

About the Author
