Summary

"The Boy Fortune Hunters in Alaska" by L. Frank Baum is an early 20th-century adventure story about a young orphan named Sam Steele who, after his father's death at sea, finds himself under the care of his newly discovered Uncle Naboth Perkins. Sam's journey begins when a sailor brings news of his father's lost ship and then escalates when he faces a greedy widow attempting to steal his inheritance. This sets the stage for Sam's Alaskan quest for gold and new beginnings; and together with his uncle, Sam bravely boards the "Flipper" to confront dangerous voyages and the thrilling promise of riches in the Alaskan gold rush.
