Summary

"Absolutely No Paradox" by Lester Del Rey is a thought-provoking science fiction story that questions the known possibilities of time travel. Set amidst friends casually discussing science, the heart of the tale beats with the mystery of why time travelers aren't among us. One man, Ned Brussels, shares the story of his friend, Pete LeFranc, who made history by sending a cat into the future. This success brings up huge questions, and the conversations lead to thinking about the very nature of time. Near the story's resolution, the arrival of a young man is soon revealed to be Pete himself, who has seemingly traveled from the future to the present, sharing a twist: one-way time travel. Consequently, Pete offers an explanation for the absence of future visitors and thus resolves the paradoxes of time travel.
