Summary

"The Corsican Lovers" by Charles Felton Pidgin is a novel set in a past time, that tells the compelling story of Vivienne Batistelli, a young woman caught between her desire for independence and the rigid expectations of her family. Vivienne refuses to marry Napier, the son of Count Mont d'Oro, a union arranged by her brother Pascal to settle an old vendetta resulting from their father’s murder. As Pascal pressures her by invoking their father's dying wish, Vivienne struggles with love, honor, and freedom as familial duty conflicts with her personal desires, against a landscape of vengeful legacies and social constraints, forming the heart of the story.
