Summary

"The Dwindling Years" by Lester Del Rey is a science fiction story that looks at what it means to be human in a world where people can live much longer. The book follows Arthur Giles, who runs a big company, as he deals with getting old after a treatment to keep him young stops working. Arthur feels cut off from his family and the things he wanted to do as he watches the world change around him. The story shows how a world with very long lifespans affects society and what people are willing to do to learn more. In the end, Arthur chooses to take a chance on a dangerous space mission to find his family, have a purpose, and possibly discover new worlds.
