Summary

"Biographical Notes on the Pseudonymous Bells" by Charlotte Brontë is a recounting of how three sisters, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë, tackled the male-dominated world of 19th-century writing by using pen names. Charlotte explains the obstacles they came across as they worked together writing books, and were aiming to get people to recognize their unique and powerful writing. It is also a personal reflection on the lives of her sisters, and is a tribute to how the Brontë sisters impacted literature.
