Summary

"The Pony Rider Boys on the Blue Ridge; or, A Lucky Find in the Carolina Mountains" by Frank Gee Patchin is an exciting adventure about a group of young friends, the Pony Rider Boys, and their journey through the beautiful but risky Blue Ridge Mountains, led by their guide, Chops. The story starts when the boys set up camp in Smoky Pass, sharing jokes and showing off their different personalities. Tad Butler, the leader, is good at setting up tents, while the others, like the funny Chunky, make everyone laugh. The mood shifts as a storm comes, and Tad warns of trouble. Their guide, Chops, adds to the humor despite being a bit lazy. As the storm gets closer, the story builds suspense, making the boys face challenges that test how brave and well they work together, especially when a big flood hits.
