Summary

"Argentine Ornithology, Volume 2 (of 2)" by Philip Lutley Sclater is a 19th-century scientific study that provides a detailed catalogue of the bird species within the Argentine Republic, describing their characteristics, behaviors, and natural environments. The second volume's introduction highlights the scope of the work, which encompasses 434 species while explaining that it concentrates on specific bird orders beyond the Passeres detailed in the first volume. Paying homage to others' work with the subject, the authors hope this work will open a new chapter into the ornithological study of Argentina, paving the way for detailed descriptions of bird families, starting with the Humming-bird family.
