Summary

"The Rebel of the School" by L. T. Meade is a tale set in a Victorian school, where the lives of two contrasting girls intertwine amidst rigid social structures and budding friendships. Ruth Craven, a scholarship student facing prejudice, finds an ally in Kathleen O'Hara, a spirited newcomer from Ireland. Kathleen's rebellious nature clashes with the school's established class system, as she defies expectations by befriending Ruth. This act of defiance sparks a series of conflicts and tests the bonds of friendship as both girls navigate the complexities of acceptance and challenge the norms of their school community.
