"A Chain of Evidence" by Carolyn Wells is a murder mystery where lawyer Otis Landon and his sister find themselves in a complicated puzzle after the death of their neighbor. They move into The Hammersleigh and meet Janet Pembroke, whose uncle is found dead shortly after their arrival. While it looks like a natural death at first, it quickly becomes clear that murder was involved. Now, Landon must move through a web of hidden motives, and twist through family relationships.
