The Wreck of the Titan or, Futility

"The Wreck of the Titan" by Morgan Robertson is a story set on the steamship Titan. This book is about John Rowland, a naval officer with troubles, and the other people on the ship everyone thinks can't sink. As the story goes on, it shows how being too proud of technology and love can lead to bad things. We learn about the ship, which is like a city on the water, and the problems between the people on it. John loves a woman named Myra, but this makes his life even harder. The beginning of the story sets up how something terrible will happen because everyone is too sure the ship is safe.
