"New York Journal of Pharmacy, Volume 1 (of 3), 1852" is a 19th-century scientific journal which aims to improve New York City's pharmacy practices. Produced by the College of Pharmacy of the City of New York, the journal intends to promote drugists' knowledge and skills and also highlights the importance of improving the pharmacy profession through sharing knowledge, scientific study and practitioner collaberation. Given that the city is a commercial center, volume 1's introduction addresses issues of adulterated drugs as well as drug production.
