Collision Orbit

"Collision Orbit" by Clyde Beck is a science fiction story about a young and clever spaceman named Tom Denby who's ship breaks down while in deep space. He begins by remembering his time in school with Betty Day, who pushed him to take on challenges. When his ship fails, Tom is sent hurtling towards space pirates, and only through his own smart thinking can he hope to survive. He then meets up with Betty Day, who is looking into a weird space event called the Warp. Tom and Betty must deal with dangerous pirates, prove Tom's father wrong, and figure out their feelings for each other as they face the dangers of space together..
