"Peg Woffington" by Charles Reade is a story set in the 1800's that follows the life of a popular actress named Margaret Woffington, talking about theater, wanting to achieve her goals, and how love and art can cause problems. We get to meet different actors and writers from that time like Mr. Vane, who is amazed by Woffington. We also meet Triplet, a painter and writer who hasn't caught his big break yet, but dreams of becoming famous. He's not happy with his life, but he really respects Mrs. Woffington because of her acting. The story takes place in a theater, where the characters work toward their goals and deal with their relationships. Mr. Vane starts to fall in love with Woffington. The theater becomes a dynamic place where the personal and professional lives of the characters are explored.
