"Wild Youth, Volume 2" by Gilbert Parker is a story set in a rural area where love and controlling relationships cause problems, mainly for Orlando, Louise, and her husband Joel Mazarine. Louise feels trapped because of Joel's controlling behavior, but after a difficult night on the prairie with Orlando, she finds new strength. Orlando tries to protect Louise, showing how they both want to be free and in love, even though society and her husband make it hard. As Joel’s anger grows, everyone around them gets involved, leading to big fights about love, loyalty, and trying to be independent.
