Summary

"Let 'Em Breathe Space!" by Lester Del Rey is a science fiction story set on the spaceship "Wahoo," as it journeys to Saturn with a crew of twenty people. Imagine being stuck in a small space with limited food and air for five long months; the story explores the intense pressures and conflicts that arise within the crew because of these challenges. The main character, Paul Tremaine, is already on edge because of past problems, like food poisoning and suspected sabotage, which makes daily life hard for everyone. The tension skyrockets when the expedition's biologist is found dead, surrounded by dying plants, which then forces the crew to confront the scary truth that a murderer is among them, and they must solve the mystery before they run out of resources. The story is filled with suspense and focuses on how fear and distrust can turn people against each other, especially when survival is at stake.
