Summary

"The Iliad" by Homer is an ancient poem that throws us right into the middle of the Trojan War, mainly zooming in on a big argument between the Greek hero Achilles and the head honcho of the Greek army, Agamemnon. This disagreement messes things up for everyone. The story kicks off with gods causing trouble for the Greeks because they were disrespectful. Achilles gets super mad and pulls himself out of the war, which causes more drama. Gods and goddesses like Jove and Juno get involved too, stirring the pot with their own plans, and it becomes a wild ride of battles, anger, and fate.
