Summary

"Snap: A Legend of the Lone Mountain" by Clive Phillipps-Wolley is a late 19th-century story that follows the adventures of Snap Hales, a spirited young boy with a knack for cricket and a talent for trouble, who studies at an English school. Snap's journey is filled with themes of camaraderie, rivalry, and growing up, as he confronts hurdles both in the classroom and on the cricket field; when his school's cricket team is short a player before a major match, the captain must persuade Snap, despite his recent bad behavior, to join. Snap's skills shine as he leads his team to victory, but his impulsive actions hint at coming challenges and pranks as he makes his way though school.
