The City of Delight: A Love Drama of the Siege and Fall of Jerusalem

"The City of Delight: A Love Drama of the Siege and Fall of Jerusalem" by Elizabeth Miller is a historical tale that transports readers to the heart of Jerusalem during its siege, where destiny and desire collide. The story centers on Laodice, a merchant's daughter, and her odyssey through love, sacrifice, and turmoil as the city crumbles around her. Facing down themes of belief amid chaos, the story begins with Laodice's father, Costobarus, a merchant in Ascalon, urgently preparing to transport his family to Jerusalem because of worrisome omens. This sets in motion a series of events, testing Laodice as the family confronts both the invading Roman forces and the terrors of a spreading plague, forcing her to confront the prophecy surrounding her life and her family's struggle to survive.
